The Desk Riser

About The Desk Riser

We're an independent review site covering standing desks, ergonomic chairs, and home office gear. No PR samples, no brand relationships that change what gets recommended.

How we research

We don't claim hands-on testing we haven't done. That's an FTC problem and, honestly, it's just dishonest. What we do instead is what a careful buyer would do before spending $400 on something: read the specs directly from the manufacturer's current product page, find owner reviews on Reddit and Amazon (especially the 1-star and 2-star ones), and look for patterns across people who've used the product for six months or more.

For every sit-stand desk comparison, we verify height range, motor count, weight capacity, and warranty from the brand's live page. Prices are checked at time of writing with a verification date at the bottom of each article, so you know exactly when we looked.

For ergonomic office setup guides and chair reviews, we lean on long-term owner reports rather than a single walk-around-the-showroom impression. The 1-star reviews tell you more than the 5-stars do.

On affiliate links

When we link to a product, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. That doesn't change the review. A desk with a wobble problem gets called out for the wobble. A chair with poor lumbar adjustment gets told plainly not to buy it. Commission or not.

The goal is a site you can trust enough to come back to next time you're spending real money on something.
